Since 2013, Water for Lakes in association with the Dutch government and Mott MacDonald have constructed or rehabilitated 720 boreholes & 20 solar powered water yards, providing sustainable access to safe drinking water for around 200,000 people in the Greater Lakes State of South Sudan.
Additionally this programme has created new businesses for the community and supported female empowerment and better hygiene practices.
